Competitions Abound

There will be much excitement this Birthday, as our fellow Windy Kitties compete for the following Baronial Championships: Arts & Sciences Champion, Performing Arts Champion, and Rapier Champion.  In addition, we will have an Armored Fighting Tournament and a Brewing Competition.  Come out to compete, to cheer on your fellow SCAdians, and to make merry!

Baronial Arts & Sciences Champion

Our barony is great, storied and glorious. Pride swells in the hearts of all true citizens of Windmasters’ Hill. To show this pride, to celebrate, your Baronage asks all artisans and alchemists to lay hand to their craft, to bring forth wonders that speak of the barony. All who would seek to benamed Baronial Artisan or Alchemist are asked to choose three of the following artistic expressions from at least two categories and produce items that can be documented, themed in some way to represent Windmasters’ Hill.

Examples to start the mind awhirl are trim in baronial colors, embroidered napkins for high table feast gear, new champion regalia for a chosen champion, a poem or song about the barony, items to be given as largesse from the baronage rendered in baronial colors or heraldic design. All entries are considered donations to the barony. Standard judging criteria for the Kingdom of Atlantiawill be consulted but the final decision will be the whim and will of the baronage. For judging expectations consult http://moas.atlantia.sca.org/judging. Documentation is expected and EZDoc is the minimum required: http://larsdatter.com/ezdoc.

Brewing Competition

Calling all brewers!  The Buckston Birthday Brewing Competition needs you!   Do you brew marvelous mead?  Awesome ale? Captivating cordial?  Come out and show your stuff.

There will be a prize awarded for the top brew in each of the following categories: Mead, Ale, Cordial, and Other.  With our birthday on the cusp of the holiday season, we are also awarding a prize for the Best Use of Spice.  And, we will raise our flagons (and give a prize) to an Overall Winner as well.

In the unlikely circumstance that we do not receive sufficient submissions for each category then they will be combined and each participant will receive feedback from the judges.
