Canton of Buckston-on-Eno
New! Event Schedule
Available!
We invite you to join us for a day in honor of St. Vitus,
the patron saint of dancers.
Capriol, a young dance student, tells us that "Without
knowledge of dancing, I could not please the damsels, upon
whom, it seems to me, the reputation of an eligible young
man depends." (Jehan Tabourot in Orchesography,
1589)
Lest you fail to please the damsels or risk your reputation,
you must dust off your finery and come strut your stuff -
on the dance floor or off!
Hone your skills with a selection of classes during the day
and then show off your fancy footwork at our evening ball!
Lady Helwynn Ivelchild will offer a light sideboard feast
during the ball so that you may refresh yourself between dances,
and we invite all attendees to contribute to our dessert revel.
For those who may not wish to dance all the day long, we
will offer a salon featuring period games.
We're setting up a hotel block, and crash space will be available!
Please note that there will be no sponsored children's activities
at this event. Children old enough to join in the dance classes
are welcome and encouraged to do so. All minors will be under
their parents' supervision.
